FOR NEWCOMERS

Welcome to the Parish of Calvary-St. George’s! We are so glad that you are here.

If you are interested in joining our community, explore these pathways to find your place at CalStG. Our dedicated clergy and hospitality team are always available to connect via info@calstg.org

Start by getting to know us!

Become a part of
Youth + Family

We offer Sunday programming throughout the year for children and teens 0-18 years of age at the 11am Sunday service at St. George's church. We provide childcare for several parish events and host special high holiday services catered to children, parent cocktail evenings, date nights, fun Youth Group events, Creative Arts Camp (VBS), and much more!

Come to our Newcomers Class

We host several introductory classes per year for newcomers to provide an engaging summary of what we do, what we believe, and all of the ways you can become a part of our community. Upcoming classes will be posted as events on our homepage. In the meantime, fill out a Connect Card below to get the conversation started! We also recommend that you visit our FAQ’s page.

Dig deep at TableTalk

Join us on Thursday evenings for dinner, fellowship, and a discussion about faith. We offer two curricula: Alpha and Beta. Alpha is perfect for those who are new to the Christian faith and want to ask questions openly, and Beta digs deeper as it explores various books within the Bible. TableTalk is free and childcare is provided.

Join our Rector’s
Online Bible Study

Throughout the year, the Rev. Jacob Smith offers 6-week online sessions on a different book of the Bible. These discussions are for anyone who would like to learn more about the Gospel, how it relates to our daily lives, and are seeking fellowship within our parish. Sign up for our newsletter to stay up-to-date on all of our events and education programs!

Make an impact

Our parishioners are the heartbeat of our Sunday Morning Worship. We are always looking for volunteers to usher, serve as acolytes, supervise Sunday School, provide childcare during events, among other opportunities to help make our church thrive! We also encourage parishioners to consider making a pledge to support our operations.

Explore confirmation

Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which the baptized Christian expresses a mature commitment to Christ, and receives strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop (Book of Common Prayer, p. 860). This happens during a Sunday worship service at our church when the bishop is visiting. We offer confirmation classes so that you can learn about the history, theology, liturgy, and polity of the Episcopal Church before being confirmed. If you want to explore confirmation, you are welcome to join the class and then make a final decision about being confirmed after the class.
