In the spring of 2024, Calvary-St. George's launched Arts at the Parish, an exciting program that invites industry professionals who are members of our community to host various events including concerts, theater performances, art gallery tours, and very soon, much more. These events are open to anyone who has an interest in the arts. See below for the latest updates!
THEATER: Tuesdays with Morrie
March 1 – March 23 | 7:00pm | St. George’s Church (Chapel)
Tuesdays with Morrie is the humorous and poignant story of career-obsessed journalist Mitch Albom, who sixteen years after graduation serendipitously learns that his former sociology professor Morrie is battling Lou Gehrig's Disease. What starts as a simple visit, turns into a weekly pilgrimage and the last class in the meaning of life.
MUSIC: Paul Carr’s The Seven Last Words from the Cross
March 29 | 7:00pm | St. George’s Church (Sanctuary)
Join us for a special Good Friday musical event featuring the work of English composer Paul Carr. Carr’s Seven Last Words from the Cross is a profoundly-moving piece, dramatically describing Christ’s last hours on earth, as sung from Him on the cross. This arrangement will feature an orchestra, choir, organ and harp, with a Baritone soloist as the voice of Christ, plus vibrant projected visual displays!

ART: Young Adults TriBeCa Gallery Tour with John Silvis

International art curator John Silvis will lead a walking tour for our community of young adults (20’s & 30’s) through various galleries in TriBeCa, followed by a discussion over catered dinner and wine in Anderson Hall at Calvary Chuch. Meet at 350 Broadway (Think Coffee) at 3:30pm.

Gifted Christian musicians have felt called to write songs expressing that to care for Creation is to glorify God. Aaron Cole, Jason Gray, Phil Joel, and Waterdeep sangtheir songs from their forthcoming album, A New Heaven and A New Earth. The other album artists, Jason Roy (Building 429), Micah Tyler and MŌRIAH will perform their songs via video.

COMEDY: After Endgame: A Comedy Show About Chess

A chess lesson and a life lesson, Doyle takes the audience on a journey across the world as he is flown to Singapore at the behest of a mysterious investor, Doyle found himself imparting chess wisdom to the world's wealthiest individuals.
